FEEDBACK[edit]
- inclination with hard turning at high speed is extreme ('sidedecks almost underwater'), add stabilizers?
- 30-07-2013 at anchor at Eforie, wave height 1.5-2.0m, wind? rolling no issue, pitching is an issue, slows down the boat when it hits a wave, tested boat parallel with waves but no issue, confident enough to put tender on board
- trip to Thasos, Greece (12 Aug 2013 by phone)
- with 6Bft severe pitching, 1 time green water on foredeck, took some time to drain
- in sea of Marmara with strong NE wind and short waves (20m) the boat tends to broach (dangerous, might make the boat capsize)
- green water on sidedecks enters aftpeak via vent grills
- at anchor the boat swings extreme (paint at bow is already gone, stainless steel plate required)
- ER temperature (measured during extensive sailing)
- limit is 55°C
- 49°C measured in Greece with outside temperature >30°C
- 46°C measured when sailing in Black Sea with outside temperature <30°C
- hottest pipe is the small generator which runs permanent during sailing (steering, etc)
[edit]
- shaft revs
- max for original boat was 600
- max this year on voyage to Greece was 500, boat speed around 10-11 knots (because the e-motor does not decouple, it's max rev is 350)
- exhaust
- manifold IS watercooled
- apply exhaust tape for isolation
- cool exhaust pipe with water from DG2 circuit?
- apply insulation on stack interior
- taper exhaust pipe insulation in way of stack
- storage on board is sufficient
- great living space
- shaft revs
17-09-2013 visit to Albatros[edit]
- mast broke during launching of tender
- tender was hoisted and turned overboard
- Mr Smit wanted to top off the boom
- nothing happened because probably the wire remained hooked on the drum
- when the wire released the boat made a short free fall
- the shock made the top break of the mast, directly under the hardware
- mast has a rectangular hole of 30x30
- mast has a round hole of about Ø70 from base, about 1000 (?) long
- screws were overdimensioned (6.0x50 instead of 6.0x30)
- engine has no manufacturers plate (Cornel: 'got lost during repainting the engine')
- DG1 has no electric pump for it's cooling water
- ME exhaust is watercooled indeed
