General applicable rules for systems engineering
Basic rules[edit]
- Simplicity - complex technology need not be arranged in a complex manner, strive for simplicity of design where possible
- Integration - integrate engineering across all disciplines assuring the most efficient use of space as well as developing systems holistically to ensure spatial and energy efficiency
- Installation – focus on efficient production and installation
- Operation - ensure that the designs are easy to operate and service throughout their life

Pumps and filters[edit]
In general pumps come after filters so they will not damage the filters.
