Contents
Target
- Creating simple and complex drawings
Example activities
- Creating advanced drawings without assistance
- Creating advanced 3D models in conformity with the construction drawings
- Complex ShipConstructor database related activities
- Creating planar groups
- Arranging curved groups
- Complex hull expansions
Relevant skills
- team spirit, self discipline, professionalism, accuracy, technical insight
Characteristics
Complexity
- Advanced drafting aimed at making complex drawings
- Accuracy is required with a modeling tolerance of 0.05mm
- Sometimes working under time constraints
- A minimum BSc degree or equivalent experience required, complemented by a broad orientation to the company's knowledge and standards, as well as to used software and material science
- Should be able to take decisions which do not have a considerable effect on the project
Organizing capacity
- Tied to own-desk procedures
- Availability to sacrifice its own time for projects and availability to stay after hours
- Receives supervision and consultations from project coordination members for the supplied drawings and also gives consultations to inferior hierarchical members
- The encountered problems are limited in complexity
- Contacts are project based and external contacts can be used to get appropriate information
- Good communication skills are required for the proper execution of the work
- Good command of the English language (both writing and speaking)
Responsibility
- Reports encountered errors in the supplied drawings to the project leader for further instructions
- Self created errors lead to additional work and inspections
- Self created errors are detected by the higher hierarchical members and restored
- Get required information from the material/equipment suppliers
- Confidentiality is required with respect to non disclosure agreements on certain projects
- Will temporary replace higher hierarchical position in case team member is missing, taking full responsibility
- Work should be carried out in a responsible manner
- Trains draftsmen
Working conditions
- Normal office working conditions
Hierarchical progress
- Continuous self development and study required for hierarchical progress
- Typically two years experience in E category required to advance to Assistant structural project leader - level F
- Special cases to be considered with additional tasks
