ROSR - REGLEMENT ONDERZOEK SCHEPEN OP DE RIJN (NL version) - is the same with European Directive 2006/87/EC 'technical requirements for inland waterway vessels'. European Directives can be downloaded from EUR-Lex.

Since Great Britain has only a few waterways where these rules apply, they created only a machine translation of the original documents in German. Because of this weird things can appear in the text and then the original directive should be read, or a better translation such as the Dutch or French.

This directive concerns all the vessels operating on the described waterways. Vessels are divided in categories and different rules apply to different vessels.

For pleasure craft are no construction requirements, instead existing class rules for inland waterways should be used, as Lloyd's Register or Germanischer Lloyd (Bureau Veritas?).
