Types of tanks[edit]

  • Fuel
  • Fresh water
  • Waste water:
    • Grey water
    • Black water
  • Dirty oil
  • Return oil
  • Lube oil

General considerations[edit]

  • Tanks are being considered as full when filled at 98% to allow room for expansion
  • Low level alarm is at around 10%, high level at 95% and high high level at 98%
  • Fuel and fresh water tanks require a breather line with the same diameter as the fill line to avoid spilling when filling with pressure.

Fuel tanks[edit]

  • Fuel tanks require paint inside to avoid corrosion (only for full tanks corrosion is not an issue but this is only applicable for boats in 24h service)

Waste water tanks[edit]

  • Waste water tanks require a breather line with the same diameter as the suction line to avoid collapsing during emptying. Instead of a large diameter breather line a valve can be applied.
  • Deck suction connection conform ISO...
