Installing SC2005 and SC2008 Side-by-side

CLIENT

  1. Install AutoCAD 2005 or 2006 (for SC2005)
  2. Install AutoCAD 2007 or 2008 or 2009 (for SC2008)
  3. Install .NET Framework 1.1
  4. Install .NET Framework 2.0
  5. Install ShipConstructor 2005 1.3 Client
  6. Install ShipConstructor 2008 Client off the DVD or from the Full Install download
  7. Update to the latest SC2008 version


SERVER

  1. Install .NET Framework 1.1
  2. Install .NET Framework 2.0
  3. Install MS SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE 2000)
  4. Install ShipConstructor 2005 1.3 Server
  5. (Optional) Install SQL Server 2005 Express Edition - this is optional because SC2008 can use the same SQL Server as SC2005
  6. Install ShipConstructor 2008 Server off the DVD or from the Full Install download
  7. Update to the latest SC2008 version
